Frans Hendriks (English)
Frans Hendriks (born 1957) is a Dutch painter, craftsman and amateur photographer. He is interested in a wide spectrum of topics, with a preference for portraits, motorbikes and historic cars. He visits specific events to photograph the objects of his interest as a guide for his paintings.
For the portraits and cars he also works assignments. He will make the reference pictures for the painting himself. He will do so after meeting the client.
Frans Hendriks likes to use a loose brush stroke, but works very precise. This is certainly reflected in the motorbike and car paintings, very accurate painted with respect to the subject. The object should appear as authentic as possible. This is why the details will definitely catch your eye.
Born and raised in Den Helder, Frans Hendriks moved to Amsterdam after completing high school to follow the study of art teacher. After finishing, he did an extra study in Utrecht at the Academy of Fine Arts and moved back to Den Helder.
Frans Hendriks Has since been working as a teacher at high schools, whilst always being active with painting in his personal life. From 2013 he became more active with painting and from 2014 on especially in painting historical cars.
